Cobb County Police responded to investigate and confirmed the report was false. Police said officers were called to assist, but now the school is back in service.
Monroe County Community Schools went into lockdown just after 1 p.m. Thursday, according to an MCCSC Facebook post. The lockdown was lifted around 2:35 p.m.
