A major snowstorm is set to hit Connecticut over the weekend, with the National Weather Service warning that more than a foot of snow could blanket parts of the state.
The Blizzard of 1978 dropped 14.7 inches of snow over 18 hours, which is more than the range of 6-12 inches predicted this Jan. 25.
Strong winds — some gusting up to 60 mph — will move into Eastern Iowa Wednesday afternoon, making travel dangerous in some parts of the region.
As Knoxville braces for the next winter storm, just remember: back in 1993, a blizzard buried the city. Do you remember that storm?
(KIMT) -- A Blizzard Warning has been issued for Freeborn, Winnebago, Hancock, Worth, Cerro Gordo, Mitchell, Floyd, and Chickasaw counties from 1 PM to 11 PM Wednesday. Strong winds will combine with falling snow to create whiteout conditions for travelers Wednesday afternoon and evening.
MSP Calumet Post responded to multiple crashes earlier today along this stretch and advises the road currently remains closed due to whiteout conditions. A blizzard warning is in effect for northern Houghton County with gusts up to 35 mph, snow, and extreme cold. https://t.co/UNPIlzwSrR
