We're training Snowflake on a glacier, working on the follow command which builds on her recall skills. Josh walks backwards in a straight line without restraint on the leash, and Snowflake learns to follow him. This exercise requires significant mental energy from the dog and is an important step before teaching heel. We also work on reinforcing her stay command, which remains challenging for her, and discuss how dogs often misinterpret the good marker as a signal that the exercise is over. | J
